Neither, because a chicken (as we know it today) slowly evolved from previous life, and it's eggs follwed suit.
There is no first, because the line between Chickens and it's genetic ancestors is not that distinct, since species are defined by the ability to procreate. Also, today's chickens are very slightly genetically different then chicken's from 1000 years ago and future chickens, so you'd have to define more closely what you mean by chicken.

The egg
There were dinosaur eggs long before there were chickens
You probably mean what came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?
Then the question is what makes a chicken egg a chicken egg, the fact that it hatches a chicken or the fact that a chicken layed it. If it is the latter, then the chicken came first, otherwise the egg came first.

I believe the only possible answer is the egg. Since generational variations occur between mother and offspring, whatever the chicken mutated from had to have been an egg layer. Therefore, the egg was first.

I guess a kind of chicken must have been born in some different way (like humans maybe), then one generation mutated and laid eggs.
You can't have a chicken without a chicken egg though!

eggs evolved long before chickens
(in other words the ancestors of chickens which were not chickens already developed eggs as part of the devlopment process)
