Get a good virus scan. I recommend Mcafee virus scan. It works great and will automatically find and clean viruses. Also, it updates automatically. You can also get a good firewall(Mcafee) which will block attempts to connect to the ports in your computer(You can pick which to block and not if you want). It works great. You could probably find a free virus scan somewhere to clean it for you.

1. have you tried Lavasoft's Ad-Aware? get it from their website and that should get it off (it's better than norton)

2. if you really want it off then pop in the recovery CD's that came with your comp or reformat the hard drive. back up your important stuff first 'cause this wipes everything off and it's like new

Find out its name then go to symantec.com. They will have a tool to root it out, or quarantine it. Otherwise, do a COMPLETE system scan using AntiVir and let it automatically deal with it.

Good luck

I recently got one from an FTP site - my virus protection (Norton) alerted me to it and wouldn't let me open it, then redirected me to one of their online sites that ran a full scan and fix.

I was surprised...it worked.
