Charging 98.9p is basically the same as charging 99p however it looks much cheaper than it really is. This is to make people buy the petrol from that petrol station. They round off the price that you have to pay to the nearest penny so that you can pay it so you would pay £1.98.

Because the price displayed is a con, they round it up. Unless you buy 10 ltrs or (any multiple of 10) in which case you would pay £9.89/10 litres.

if u buy two litres u pay the 1,98 as it will take it the nearest penny and round it off,but not many people do that ,they usually put five quids in or ten quid never the actual litre

Obviously we only are able to pay in whole pennies. So they either have to round to the nearest penny, or if they are mean round up to the next penny. I wouldn`t be surprised if they did the latter.

yes that is the price, do you ever put exactly 2 liters in?
you would put £1.97 or £1.98
personally, when the tank starts to get below a predetermined level like 1/4 full I top it up so it is full, so where is your £0.008 or whatever then?
