It seems as if everyone is targeting Islam for teaching aggression throughout the world. I cannot help but to try to look on the other side of the fence and see what is going in Muslim countries and what acutal Muslims think

Ever hear of the expression "Actions speak louder than words?" It is certainly true in this case. Additionally, the silence of 'mainstream' Muslims on terrorism is deafening. There is no misunderstanding. Read the hadith, then you will know how easy it is to justify violence from an Islamic point of view. Islam is not a peaceful religion, despite the fact that there are peaceful Muslims. Look all over the world, Muslims killing Buddhists in Thailand, killing each other everywhere, killing their women for the crime of being raped, killing (and taking as slaves) Christians in Africa, killing Jews wherever they can, and killing Taoists in China. Nope, no mistake, Islam is worse than Nazism or Stalinism. Sad but true.

I think religions have had their stint in the world and should now be part of history books... let people live equal and dignified lives and be good to each other without any latent bias. For that is wot religion of this day has become.
Painting every one with the same brush is like dividing the world into black and white... as though there were no greys. So best is to take each individual for what he or she is rather than by association or origin. Would u like to be known as a White Christian Crusader? That is how the inverse stereotype of Muslim as a Jehadist sounds.

the answers are true indication that Islam is so much misunderstood. I truely believe in this religion even though i am not a muslim. If you really understand the true meaning of each rituals, you will know the true worthiness of those thing. No religion teaches hatred or violence, just people make use believe that they do teach that.

People do it all the time with us Christians too. I think people don't see to be able to understand that 1. Not all Christians or all Muslims believe the same way. 2. There are a lot of horrible people out there who do things in the name of a religion to manipulate people and they are all going to hell for blaspamy. I lived in Afghanistan and traveled around the middle east enough to know that most Muslims are not militants running around screaming Jihad.

1300+ years of history don't lie. I think Islam has made its intentions clear from the beginning when Mohammed's army killed Jews living in Medina for not converting. Where it cannot spread by peace, it dispenses the sword. When it exists somewhere, it maintains "religious purity" by the sword. It attempted to invade Europe by force of arms a number of time. It is still trying to subdue India. It is now infiltrating Catholic Philippines and resisting East Timor - a Christian break away nation. The fence is low and full of holes - already seen that.

nope....there's definately no "misunderstanding"
the next time a muslim denounces that kind of violence will be the first time. those that don't do so are guilty by association and they perpetuate the violent stereotype.

ALL THESE ANSWERS IN FRONT OF ME(except for 1 ) are completely untrue. islam is extremely misunderstood and ppl are just too lazy to look it up. it means PEACE. i dont think its allowed in ANY religion to blow ppl up or commit suicide.... there are too many racist ppl....and they dont even know bs
