i think it is strictly fashion..... they pick a necklace they think is pretty, put on their goin out clothes and get their freak on...... but the idea of gettin your freak on with the universal symbol of the death of Jesus dangling from your neck is idiotic..... i do wish people would think of those things, but we are in a society where sex is so saturated in our culture that the lines are all blurred. If you think about it, the half naked girls walkin around, then getting up on Sunday to go to church is just as absurd.... but that happens every day..... we want our cake and to gooble every delightful morsel of it as often as we can because life is more about the here and now than the greater hereafter

Obviously to the person wearing the cross (while half naked) the cross is little more than fasionable jewelry. It's becoming quite fashionable to have Christian tatoos and jewelry even though their lifestyles clearly do not conform to Christian ideals. The show of Christian attempts to show that they are "a good person" even though they may or may not fully buy into the Christian lifestyle.

As Christians we are to remember the fact that Christ came into this world to save all of us. He died on a cross yet but the good part is that he has risen and will never die.. As Christians we are to pick up our crosses and follow Jesus no matter what we are going through because God will keep us all safe and deliever us from evil

As a man, a mystical Christian,
etc.,I find it distracting. It seems to be one of the "mixed" messages that a lot of women are famous for.
I have similar feelings about when women wear clothing with written messages. Two examples: The phrase "Bad Kitty" across a woman's chest, which I saw at a 12-step meeting and thought inappropriate; and a teenage girl working out at the "Y" who had the word "Trouble" written on the backside, over her buttocks.
I know I should be stronger and more restrained, at my mature age but I DO wish that women would save their sexy clothes for dates and going to lounges, or other "special occasions".
But to see this constantly, in every place from the shopping mall to the public library,
well, Ladies please have a little mercy on us all.
Yes, you dress for yourself, to feel good about yourself, I am told. So? Do you need such constant ego-gratification? Are you that needy in the self-esteem department?
It not only can make a man feel queasy, but I imagine that a lot of women resent this kind of thing, as well.

Obviously, whoever does that is just trying to get attention. "Oooh, look - I'm wearing a cross AND I'm half-naked! Figure ME out!!"

i feel like wearing a cross doesn't mean you have faith... and being half naked doesn't mean you DON'T have faith. wear what you want, or don't want. beliefs aren't neccessarily supposed to be expressed with fashion.

If the semi-nudity is for professional purposes, I'd say the crucifix is inappropriate.
