Not that I don't want to buy a wifi router, it is just that:

I have a computer equipped with EDGE, and I wanted to know if I could share the internet connection with others through wifi.

No. I'm sure it could be done software wise, but its the hardware you need.

A wireless router broadcasts a signal, your computer does not.

Buy a wireless router. I bought a Belkin wireless router and works fine, I know there are others in the market much better than the one I got like Linksys but I'm happy with the one I got.

You need a couple of things:

- UTP-network card to connect to the wired network
- Wireless network card to broadcast your wireless signal
- Proper routing software
