The boot up disk must have DOS in it. You just put the CD or the diskette in and reboot. That's all.

However, the clicking noice may be caused by a physically broken hard drive (I had exact same problem before). With a broken hard drive, you are NOT going to be able to boot your computer no matter what you do. You will need to replace it with a good hard drive. It depends on how badly broken your hard drives as far as whether you can retrieve the data in it and put it in your new hard drive though.

WHEN YOU TURN THE COMPUTER ON IMMEDIATLY START PUSHING F8 OR F10 DEPENDING ON THE BRAND OF COMPUTER YOU HAVE....IT SHOULD BRING UP BOOT MENU SELECT THE CD-ROM TO BOOT FIRST AND THROW YOUR DISC IN....IT SHOULD BEGIN TO AUTO PLAY FROM THERE...THE CLICKING NOISE COULD BE YOUR HARDDRIVE HOPE ITS NOT FRIED! GOOD LUCK.
