Should we work harder to provide 'made in america' solutions to our energy needs, or keep giving 3rd world countries money for their oil? Given that they buy guns n stuff with the money instead of benefiting their citizens, isn't it time to stop feeding the 'fire'?

Side note: I've saved about 16 GRAND by parking whenever humanly possible. A decent bike costs 200 bucks, money well spent!

There's been alternative out there for a long time but the interest of the oil corporations had never allow those to come up and when the do is because they have bought patents of have some sort of interest in it. My position and every bodies position in this situation will always be as consumers. How much are you willing to consume or not to consume?

Yes, we should move to self reliance and start main streaming alternative fuels. Biodiesel is a fav plus can be made from all kinds of waste that every city has. I like Darryl Hannah only in the fact that she has made her living compound an energy generator for herself and has surplus to feed to her neighbors. She actually gets a check from the E company paying her for her surplus.

I think we need to get innovative!

exciting. yet my concept is that each and each and every individual is purely transferring faraway from the GOP and Democrats quite than actual in route of embracing the Tea celebration flow. it is, they have little information what the Tea celebration crowd actual represents (in a lot because it doesn't quite have a consistent, unified platform) and are purely of the frame of mind of "all of us in spite of the indisputable fact that the similar old bunch". do not get me incorrect - i'm delighted that it truly is occurring. If no longer some thing else it ought to get the interest of the movers and shakers in DC. yet my issue is that when human beings quite attempt to triangulate on what the Tea celebration flow tangibly represents then it's going to finally end up fragmenting alongside quite some distinct, incompatable lines.

I agree, it would be nice to be completely self-reliant, but unfortunately it isn't like we can just shut off a switch and be ok. It would trash the economy because gas prices would skyrocket. If you don't like $3 a gallon, you'd hate $10 or more. We need to find alternate means of transportation or other fuels to replace the current fuel needs.

Here's my take on this: We need to start using either bio deisle or solar energy or wind enerdy. Our country is in dept enough. And those people who say wind turbines are bad? Well like it or not wind is free! But I say we need to find alternate means of energy or our country might be heading for some rough years.

If mouth farts from politicians could be somehow converted tio usable BTU, then we could go home and party on.

As it is, there's no practical solution in sight. The situation is no better elsewhere and even in oil-exporting countries where gasoline usec to be cheap the screws are on.

Small comfort, I know.

Ive seen video of them using tap water to produce a flame, and cut
tungsten. But the flame will not burn your skin. Even while cutting.

We should be investing alot in this technology right now.
