I am looking for salary data specifically for hockey. I am trying to research how the salary cap and rule changes have influenced the game.

USA Today has data for 2000-2003, and it can be sorted several ways:

You really can't It was basically an "honor" system so you can't be too sure about the thing. Ok so they publish contracts BUT that doesn't really give you what the team makes. Also the question of how teams determine what they made. Another thing is how do they get the contract info? I would guess it is public info somehow but not sure. NOTE The Penguins state in their emails when they sign a player that they are not giving the numbers because that is offical club policy. As I said it is proably public record but just wondering.
