The new tires will be balanced before they put them on the vehicle; that's part of the cost, and yes, it's a must. As far as the alignment goes, you don't HAVE to, but you should...it will ensure that you will not cause abnormal wear on the new tires. As part of that service, they will also inspect the rest of your front end and advise if any worn parts are detected.

Hope this info helped.

You absolutely need to get them balanced. You only need to have the wheels aligned if they are out of alignment -- -- an examination of the wear pattern on your old tires will show if the wheels are out of alignment. A good honest tire shop can tell you immediately whether or not an alignment is required. (A locally owned, independent, owner-operated tire shop is probably more trustworthy than one of the big chains.) Also, the new tires should be mounted on the rear wheels -- see http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=52

Usually the people who will mount the tires on the rims will balance them. You always have them balanced when applying new tires to a car. Front end aligned would be nice, but it's not required.

balanced yes. All new tires need balanced. Aligned probably not unless your old tires wore in a funny pattern indicating you need an alignment.

BALANCING IS SO THE TIRE AND WHEEL DONT SHAKE IT ALSO HELPS THE TIRE WEAR EVENLY OUT OF BALANCE TIRE WILL WEAR A FLAT SPOT IN THE HEAVY SPOT ON THE TIRE.ALIGNMENT IS A MAINTENANCE JOB YOU WANT TO BE SURE YOUR CAR IS IN ALIGNMENT WHEN YOUR NEW TIRES ARE PUT ON. BECAUSE, IF IT IS OUT AND YOU WEAR YOUR TIRES AS A RESULT OF IT YOU CAN'T PUT THE RUBBER BACK ON THE TIRES OR COUNTER THE WEAR ONCE IT IS DONE. CHECK THE ALINGMENT WHEN TIRES ARE PUT ON AND WHEN YOU ROTATE THEM OR IF YOU HIT SOMETHING HARD ,NOTICE YOUR STEERING WHEEL POSITION CHANGED OFF CENTER ,CAR PULLS TO ONE SIDE. GOOD LUCK
