I am stuck in the boondocks as well 20 miles from town....I have been out of work Jan.19,2006.................and yes it gets very boring.
Hope the 10 weeks fly by, like really fast for you

Check out the local sites. Are there any old churches or castles or ancient sites of any kind?? If you're away from work for ten weeks, couldn't you get a rail ticket and pop into London, Liverpool, or Blackpool for a day trip? Go down to your local and try to get to know some people and perhaps they will have some ideas of what you could do or see in the area.

You're in another country and you're wasting your time on a stupid computer????? Get out and go among the natives! Look at their architectures, their museums, and check out their pubs! A great way to meet people is to ask them questions about themselves. Can't leave the camps? Then form a theater puppetry with your fellowmen. Or a mime act or a club of some kind. Form a all male dancers in ballerina roles. It's hilarious. Good luck and have fun!

Perfect time of year for some walking tours of the area. Get a camera (cheap or otherwise) and go nuts!!
Plus, no offense UK folks, but it isn't like it's a HUGE country....heck, I'd do the walk across the UK thing. There's apparently a nice trail, or two, that goes across the country.
You are soooo lucky, and you need to get up and get going.

UK? Lucky! You can explore castles and ancient monolithic structures. All we have here is strip malls.

take walks and enjoy the scenery. I take it you are not near a city or I would suggest you take a sight seeing tour sample restarants and shopping.
