Well your question is racist, but your not italian!
You prooved yourself wrong by asking a question. Italians are not racist. Just because you meet someone racist from italy doesnt meen you should be judging the whole race. What would make you thnik that in the first place.

Your question should be: why are SOME Italians racist?
And the answer would be the same as to the following questions:
Why do some people vote for LePen in France?
Why are some people in Germany nostalgic of Nazism?
Why do some white people in the USA discriminate black people and Hispanics?
Why do some white people in South Africa discriminate black people?
And the answer is....
... because there's IDIOTS everywhere!!!
But at least, in Italy, you'll never have to fill out forms where they ask you what race you are: White/Caucasian, African American, Latino/Hispanic, African, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc, etc. Who cares? How can America allow this?

The suggestion that Materazzi is racist for what he said on the pitch during the biggest game of HIS career is ridiculous! He was just doing what he does. He serves a role on the team that does not just include trapping stikers offsides. Lippi knew this when he named Marco to the squad.
Racism? Are you kidding me? Talking about someone's mother or sister? Please be realistic about this.
In English there is a saying..."All is fair in Love and War". If you do not realize that a significant (not most, but significant) percentage of professional atheltes talk badly to one another all of the time in order to gain a psychological edge over their opponents then you are living in a fantasy world.
In the biggest match of the world, every four years, there are many tactics that are used and seeking psychological advantage is one of them. Zidane failed to control his emotions during a moment that I am sure Zizou is not unfamiliar with and deserved the red card. I am sure everyone can agree Zidane DOES NOT deserve to be remembered for this incident. His brilliant career is why many call him one of the top three players of all time.
I am sure Zidane knows Materazzi is a troublemaker. Materazzi hit the jackpot when Zizou fell for this cheap trick and shows that even one of the greatest of all time is fallible.

stop being a racist yourself...Italians are sooo not racist they are accepting of anyone... if u go to italy they'll respect u even if your not Italian...they'll tlk to u in Italian even if your not Italian becuz they think u are...and thats not racist...they are ppl who enjoy life and do not trouble themselves with stupid things especially since there not racist...
