A newborn *what*? Cat or dog? You must be talking about animals because human babies are born with their eyes open...

It's already opening it's eyes in the womb. About 7 months gestation.

Sometimes as soon as they are born.Many people say a newborn can't see.I disagree with that.I have held my newborns and made eye contact.I would imagine things might be a little fuzzy or out of focus because they came from the dark into a world of bright lights but they soon adjust .

They start doing this in the womb. They will open there eyes when you first meet them and when they are awake. Congrats!
