People are mean because they can be and most of the time it shows that they either (1) have low self esteem.(2) have no reasonably good answer (3) are very uneducated (4) have issues with mental stability (5) Think that being rude or acting stupid will gain their inner being popularity (6) Gaming for points(7) have no common sense(8) Gain self-Satisfaction (9) Release anger because this is the only way they no how(10) cut down others because it makes them feel better.

see...the great thing about yahoo answers is that I can say whatever I want and I don't have to worry about you coming to beat me up for being a meanie! So If I wanna be like "I hope you die" the worst thing that can happen is I'll get a warning...
Some people are just having a really bad day, sometimes people are offended by the question, and sometimes the answerer just thinks that the question is so stupid that it deserves a smartass answer...I've been mean a few times, it really just depends on my mood.

I've had the same question on my mind for the last few days. I think it's because people have no lives so they use Yahoo Answers as a substitute for a difinitive lack of self esteem. After all... Why feel bad by yourself, when you can try to make so many others feel bad with you! *bah*

must be something about miserable people craving things like this to make themselves feel better. Quick and easy semi-human inter-action for the lonely and/or bitter who don't know how to interact in any way than picking at others or being negative.

When people with no self esteem can hide behind a computer screen it gives them the courage to be rude and insulting.Since you can not see them nor know their real name.I can only hope some day they will say something stupid and smartass to a violent hacker who tracks them down and punishes them in ways I best not describe.
