It's not blacks, but it is the majority. For some reason, many (not all!!!) blacks don't use proper English and they put themselves in bad situations by purposely being on welfare and having to live in low-income apts. which then turn into druggies and murderers. he is ignorant and most of these answers on here ive read are. i cant beleive what stupiliberal said. i think the problem is most of these people live in all white neighborhoods and dont know what they are talking about. they only beleive what they see on tv. i have meet good and bad people of all races, it comes down to personality before race. as to the comment by stupid liberal you do know that thre are more white people on welfare rstatistically ight? and so what if someone lives in a small apartment, what is wrong with that. we need to quit judging people on income as well. i think some of these yahoo users need to read a book or go outside and meet people instead of typing hate on a computer all day. quit stereotyping.

I am not a racist but he has something of a point in there.
Now hear me out.
There are many successful black men and women in this world all of whom have made it to the top through hard work and education. What SmartOne is trying to say is that by speaking in "slang" you make yourself sound less intelligent. The same can be said for white men and women as well.
You are who you make yourself and if you want people to view you as smart you need to look, talk and act smart. By using language as mentioned in SmartOne's answer you do not look intelligent you look like the stereotypical (black or white) welfare recipient selling drugs and buying Cadillacs. Now, that may not be who you are but that is what you look like and by you I don't mean you personally I mean in general.
Sorry if you took offense to any of this but it's my opinion and you asked for it.
