i have housework to do(dishes, laundry, vacuuming, etc. the usual boring stuff), plus i have a 2 year old and puppy to occupy. when i have a heavy work load, i get really discouraged and find myself sitting at the computer...as opposed to doing work.
it looks like it is going to rain today...a good sign to get my housework done.
i suppose i'm just bored with seeing the same few walls over and over again--my husband usually takes my car to work, to save on gas(his is a gas guzzler). so that leaves me here most of the time with not much to do.
should i maybe rearrange the furniture or something? i just want to spice up my home life and get things done quickly, then have time(and an idea) of what to do next. thanks for any insight!

Then, pick a project you want to complete in your home. Complete it. Don't let everything overwelm you. Take baby steps and complete them one at a time.

minor redecorating. move the small stuff around to different rooms, it gives everything a new light. put the little one down for his nap and take a long hot bubble bath or do something else just for you. it's amazing what a bit of "me time" can do to spice up the home life. another hint is to break out those cook books and magazines and try one of those dishes you've always said you'd like to try but keep putting off.
I really understand the four walls feeling. just take it one step at a time, try to keep it fun by creating your own games with the housework, think of things that the little one can help with and take it as it comes. you'll be done in no time.

Have you got a friend with a child who can visit? The best stimulus is company; I know how hard it is to keep motivated on your own. When you know someone's coming round, it suddenly seems obvious what needs doing in the house!
Failing that, go for a walk, even if the weather's not great - it's good to get out into the air and brighter light of outdoors.
Good luck, been there, sympathise with you.

Rearranging the furniture sounds like a good plan. Just don't get hurt.

Read a good book....rent some movies.....or better yet, watch a few episodes of Trading Spaces...I always get motivated to screw the house up when I watch that damn show.....moving stuff and buying things.....

Get off the computer and do your housework. Then when you're all done you'll feel so happy because you get to relax.

Take just a little time out of your day and pray for whirled peas.
