That is usually a sign of high blood pressure. Did your doctor check you pressure?

I am 16 weeks and 4 days and have had a few nasty headaches, I suffer from migraines normally anyway.

I also suffer from hayfever, so blocked sinuses can cause headaches. Also a sign of dehydration, so have plenty of fluid as your Dr says.

If it continues, it might be worth raising your concerns with your midwife to check you over - blood pressure, anemia etc. No problem is worth worrying about when you are pregnant, always best to check with midwife.

Headaches can also be a sign of tension or stress, so maybe worth talking to someone (partner, family member or friend) if there is something troubling you.......a problem shared...........

I have heard of this - luckily I have escaped the headaches although I have had terrible and unrelenting nausea with my pregnancy, which is worse for me as I am an emetophobic (have a phobia of vomiting) so its pretty scary and stressful to feel this way!

If the water isn't working them I wouldn't bother to keep drining loads. It will just make you bloated and nauseous. It is pregnancy hormones which cause headaches, not dehydration. You should be able to take a painkiller - I think in the UK (where I live) they advise you only to use Paracetamol as Aspirin and Ibuprofen are not safe in pregnancy. You might want to check with your doctor which painkillers are safe to use in pregnancy.

Otherwise, try to get as much rest as you can.

I am a life long migraine sufferer and they only got worse during pregnancy. The B***ch of it was that I couldn't take any of the usual migraine meds when I was pregnant, so I had to suffer. Keep in close contact with your doctor.

Sometimes if you get pure peppermint oil and touch it to your temples, it helps a bit.

Good luck to you.

I have headaches all the time. The simplest things will trigger a headache for me. Smells, food, moods, etc. Its painful to think about.

you can take tylenol - but check with your doctor first. I had the same thing with both of mine and it is hard but just keep reminding your self that this is temporary and motherhood is forever. Believe me there are more headaches ahead! =)
