Years ago I read a sociological study that was done on college campuses that found that more than 30% of young men admitted that if they knew they could get away with they would commit a rape. I hope that isn't true but my guess if 30% admitted this it must be even higher.

I'm really not trying to offend anyone with this question or imply that most men are rapists but the high rate of rape is a disturbing reality. Today there are reports coming out of places like South Africa that say that a girl is more likely to be a raped (1 in 4) then learn how to read and Cameroon where girls are having their breast ironed by their families so they won't be attacked. These are societies where rapists almost never meet justice. Although I've read that in the U.S. due to the failure of women to report rape and the low conviction rate only 3% of those who commit rape will actually be punished.

Hell no, I wouldn't even think of it, and this includes spiking a drink or drugging someone; but there are predators out there and that is a sad fact of life. Also, some people will take the opportunity of others misfortunes; but I live by my own rules and standards, and if it ain't offered, it ain't worth having. I like it when I can make my partner happy and please her; I'm not in it totally for myself. So in all honesty, yes that percentage may be higher, or it could also be lower because maybe some of those who admitted they would might be bragging or trying to boost their sexual prowless.

I remember my brother telling me about this survey, we both thought it was sick and still do. I don't know if you're right about it being higher, I hope not. On the other hand, maybe some of those guys who think they would/could do this when answering a survey question would find that the actual act was too sick and perverted to actually do in reality. To rape anyone, a person would have to be able to be aroused and maintain arousal while seeing and feeling another person's total anguish, however a given victim might be expressing it. I sure as hell hope that three or more out of ten guys couldn't do that.

I am so proud of you young men. You show great respect for women & your Mother's teachings. Right Answer & pat yourself on back from Grandmother of 7.

This study must have been guys playing around, I can not believe there are that many sick young men. By the way the ex-solidier who raped the girl was released from military before any of this was known for "personality disorders" - mental illness.

Your statements are not true. It used to be that there were 4 different types of rapists until the lesbians wanted rape to be only about "power." Some real rapists fall into the class of hating women, or wanting power, but there are many who just want sex and don't care about what the other person feels-- it only seems like it's about power and domination to the victim, and since women can't shut their mouths about anything, they nagged the weak psychologists into changing their "science," just like the feminists and male gays scared them into lying and say that homosexuality isn't a mental disorder, which it is in most cases. Just because that's why you rape women, doesn't make it true about all of them. Nearly all of the fictitious and mythical "date rape" is only about being horny and having sex with unstable, intolerable young women-- almost all young women in the West now-- there is no component of that which is about power and domination, mostly because "date rape" is actually consensual sex in almost all cases.

Absolutely not! I'm horrified at your statistics. If those figures are accurate, the parents of these students have failed miserably to instill any values in them. Yes, it's the job of the parents, not the schools. The example they set means far more than any lecture on ethics.

Yahoo news has reported just that , they say 5 Americans soldiers raped a 14 year old girl in Iraq, then killed her, and her family, and set them on fire, because they thought they could get away with it?

There is absoulutely no way I could committ such a heinous act on a woman. If she isn't willing, I'm not forcing it on her. Any man that says they would is a no class barbaric excuse for a human being.

No and I'm offended by your question and I rarely get offended.

Gotcha, sorry to overreact. No I nor any other males I know would. The stats are disturbing.

Rape isn't about sex. It's about power and control. That's also why most pedophiles in their adult relationships are heterosexual, despite what sex the children they molest are.

Me? I have to stop if the girl I'm with even LOOKS like she's not into it. No orgasm for her means no orgasm for me.

No way. Part of the pleasure of sex is the fact that the woman WANTS to be with me. Not so with rape.
