Sure have !! The place to go in Colombo, is called the 'Waadhiya' - the daily catch of fresh seafood, cooked and served on the beach - yummy ! Best local beer is 'Lion' and dirt cheap too !

Yes, 24 years ago! A delightful memory as a group of us spent the day on the east coast (Batticoloa or Trincomalee as I recall). There was even an open air dance area set up. The grilled seafood, beer,rice and dancing on the beach were delightful, especially considering that a few days later civil war broke out and our hotel in Kandy was set on fire. We flew out of Colombo which was a ghost town by the time we got there. Very sad, but Sri Lanka is doing much better these days, though still some strife about. I wouldn't let that stop anyone from visiting that wonderful country. I do hope to return someday.

Have you ever been spent a day at any SriLankan beach huts and tasted toasted Prawns with their local beer? when strippers strip!!!!

yes, i have had fabulous holiday there in febuary 2004, was really beautiful place,, and very freindly people, being single travleler, all
hotel staff were very freindly.. loved all spices and foods..
