Regardless of gender, no one is very comfortable with the doctor checking more sensitive areas. Just gotta bite your lip and ride it out....

Honey I hate it too,I'd rather take a beeting then have to go through that,but what works for me is that I talk to the doctor or nurse while I'm in there to try and get my mind off of it!!! I talk about my kids or what ever!!!

When he/she starts going down, Imagine you are taking a walking in a field filled with roses. Try to be as detailed as possible.

Take deep breaths and relax. I know its easier said than done at times but it really helps. If you tense up your body, your belly tenses, so that makes the exam more uncomfortable.

you need to try to relax. being female if you tense up it'll make things worse. try to think of something else. do math in your head. sometimes your doc will talk to you during about something TOTALLY unrelated - that helps too
