I read that there are 3 or 4 days before the Ovulation start date that you are fertile. Once the day of Ovulation starts, does it matter if you keep trying or is it a wait and see thing after that point?

Yes, it does matter if you keep trying after ovulation. The truth is there is always a chance of pregnancy when having unprotected sex. An egg can be viable for around 24 hours but sperm can live in your body for up to 5 days depending on the conditions. Yes women are fertile a few days before ovulating, however it doesn't hurt to continue trying after your ovulation date because there is a chance that you ovulated a little bit later than planned. Also, some women claim to have gotten pregnant while on their period if that is so then they were fertile after ovulation. Good luck!

You are fertile the day you ovulate, and the next day too. The best time to try is starting 3 days before you ovulate, up until the day after.

You have from 12-24 hrs after your egg has been released that you are still fertile. They tell you to have sex 3-4 days prior to ovulation so you assure that you do not miss the release of the egg because sperm lives for up to 6 days if in the right temperature inside of you so, once tge egg has been released you still have about a fertile day.

My "Taking Charge of your Fertility" book says 5 days before THROUGH your ovulation day are your fertile days. I got pregnant with my daughter 5 days before ovulation. I know this because I was charting. The sperm that make girls can last 5 days and still fertilize an egg.

My husband and I had sex every other day after I stopped my period, that was the last period I had. I found out I was pregnant 4 weeks later, I am not sure which time we had sex was the one. But that is how we did it. I hope this is helpful.
