is it really as bad as some people make it out to seem?

It depends where or what city..A friend of mine is a manager at one of them in L.A. and its like a gang war between the mex & blacks. The turnover is high because of the low wages one couldn't feed the cat with and because of the age group that hasn't gained responsibility. The owners of most of the franchises work the managers like dogs for their own greed ! I did have fun workin at a Wendy's in Ashville, N.C. good people at the time. Stay in school for higher education..good luck.

Depends what fast food chain you work at. I loved working at A&W, because it had more of a diner atmosphere.

My first real job was slinging burgers at a McDonald's in Hollywood, FL. Yes, it WAS that bad! They paid minimum wage and worked you liked a slave.

I worked for Mcdonalds for a month. The worse feeling is the first day when you have to wear the stupid uniform. Can you can DORK?

I once worked at Mickey D's. It seems the less you get paid at a job, the harder they expect you to work. I think I still have grease in my lungs.

i worked at arby's for a few years, i loved it, i worked at a nicer store though, the people i worked with were nice, it was never THAT busy, i made more than minimum wage too and got a bunch of hours. it was fun for me
