Skin follows a biological timeline, by decades of life. During your 20s and 30s, the first wrinkles start to appear and skin becomes less resistant as elasticity declines and gravity begins to take hold. In your 40s and 50s, repetitive movements form the first permanent wrinkles as genetics, gravity and a decrease in collagen and elastin cause skin and muscle to sag. The scrubs stimulates your skin's timeline to regenerate more often and it will help you with the dark skin. The rays from the sun: UVA and UVB.... UVA is the one that destroys your elasticin and collagen (the same ones that when we grow older they start the diminish the production) and this is what makes the 90% of aging signs and the tanning slons have these rays. Also the UVB is the ray that burns you and contributes to skin cancer. What you need are products that help you get protected form both rays and always try to avoid the SPF over 30 because these will cause your skin to get irritated. I use these great products that help me get a nice tan, they also have great sun protectors for everyday use and water resistant, and they also have a tan enhancer that makes your tan last longer....you could find them in this site, at the left margin look for BefoRE Sun and you will find them .... http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com (under shop online) the best part is that they have ingredients for anti aging.... wonderful...and the hair protectn is just divine because it also works like a detangler..... and you could also use the "chap stick" they have to protect and hydrate your lips .......
also check this site out about toxins in "beauty" products given on Fox News.... http://easylink.playstream.com/ydc/Arbonne/fox_news.wvx

It really depends on your skin tone and where your at in the country-while we need Vitamin C from the sun, we also need to where sunblock to avoid those UV rays-which is also the same type of lighting used in a tanning bed-so if ya tan in a bed I'd say start with 5 min a day for 3 days then 10 min but never over 15 min a day to be safer. If your sun bathing use sunblock to block the bad stuff from penetrating your skin as much but you'll still get some color. They say the best time to lay out is when its overcast-because the clouds block the UV rays but the good rays still come through-Good Luck

Always use SPF 15 or higher, you may have to lay out longer, but you'll be thanking yourself when everyone looks like a old-leather bag dying of skin cancer and your the one that has a super healthy, great looking tan. I would suggest Banana Boat or even try sunless tanning, even though it is hard to find a good one, but if your desperate, that is what will work. No matter how dark don't just think because you are dark doesn't mean u don't get skin damage!!

Geez...what is up with people? I just answered another question on tanning just a minute ago. Yeah, tans look good (only the 'real' ones...tanning bed results in alien color)...but how long do you really want to live? How many scars can you live with? Is it really worth it? I've had melanoma. It's not fun. A year later, I still go into a major panic over every little spot on my body! If you burn or tan your skin...that's still damage...damage to the cells that can lead to skin cancer.

No amount of tanning is safe. Any at all is bad for you. But hey, I tan naturally all the time. You only live once right? Might as well look as good as you can and make yourself happy.

If you really want to get tan, I'd suggest 30 minutes a day, you'll get a little burnt, but the sun burn doesn't last very long at all.

Tanning is not safe.... so the answer is zero minutes. Use a self tanner.. or go to a salon and have them do the spray for you.. is what I do to keep from being so pale.
Take it from me.. a long time sun worshipper... skin cancer is not fun.

If you do it every day for 30 to 45 minutes it will develop. If you fry and get a sunburn it won't be safe.
