“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

greedy right wing conservatives who are only comfortable when the masses are in chains and the wealth of the world is in their hands.

GWB seeks to bring the world under his own group's permanent control. this is why they always get scared and upset when another country decides to become stronger.

they've spent great amounts of time and wealth on making the USA the strongest nation in the world through slavery, war, and so on. they can not risk loosing that power by allowing other countries to become equal.

they want safety for themselves and by having the biggest guns, loudest mouths and ensuring no one else has any guns, they can feel comfortable in the world.

this is why GWB and his cronies are considering North Korea's missile tests as a provocation to war. they dont like the idea of a missile threatening them while they smoke cigars in front of a fireplace.

The Bush administration is unabashedly influenced by 3 groups, primarily. One, is the religious conservatives and the likes of Ralph reed and the Christian Coalition, the Naftional Family Council, and Pat Roberston and Jerry Fallwell have access to presidential ears as well.

Two, are american corporate titans. the late kenneth lay, Enron, ALL the big energy company ceos, Haliburton execs (ala dick cheney), etc etc etc

Third, are less conservative/liberal groups, but still very active politically. The ADL (anti defemation league), NAACP, etc. These groups though certainly do not have the sway the other two do.

Without putting a political slant on this, but the truth is, there is no REAL voice of the average american (who tends to be average salaried, middle of the road politics). Which is why it appears the bush administration leans so far to the right, and is almost always pro-business and not so focused on the environment.

From common sense. If you hadn't noticed, we were actually attacked, and 1000's of Americans died. Decidedly unlike Germany in 1939, which was a staged fake photo-op attack. That anybody would compare these two events shows a wonton imbecility.

9/11 is comparable only to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. A surprise attack that caught us flat footed.

And, for those with no historical knowledge, Goring was a pompous drug-addicted self-aggrandizing dimwit. Quoting idiots is not exactly the sign of a discriminating mind.

Do people ever get sick of spouting idiocies like this question?

Wow. That quote was too deep. It makes you think. However, I will neither confirm nor deny my agreement or disagreement that those statements could have come from Bush's cronies in this millenium. I dont want the FBI CIA NSA checking me out. I hope you live overseas too. Be careful out there.

Interesting question and amusing comparison.

I think Bush needs to take his afternoon nap, if his daddy is ever sick and unable, how's he gonna give those arrogant speeches to the public? Not without Daddy's help!

He's a Texan, a golfer, and a president- that's not a healthy mix.

I heard that Karl Rove types them on small slips of paper and they're deliverd to George inside of fortune cookies. If he forgets to eat a small bite of the cookie before reading the policy, then it isn't enacted. That's why the gay marriage thing never gets anywhere - he keeps reading the slip before taking a bite of cookie.

Some of the smart people are for war when it is needed. LIke now. There are some places that we have not gone yet that should be looked at for attack before they do on to us.
