A newspaper article says that ASEANS would be able to travel within it's members Visa free. What would this mean to ASEANs? What changes would take place? Say now, i'm a singaporean and i have to fill in a "White card"/departure-arrival card to get into malaysia. Would i still have to do so if this Visa free thing takes effect?

Visa Free means that ASEAN citizens can go to its member without visa. Until this time, citizens should bring their passport, however. And they have to complete departure and arrival card. Well, basically this system is a little bit different with Schengen Agreement, where your passport won't be stamped. But with ASEAN Visa Free, you should bring your passport and the officer will stamp your passport when you enter one of ASEAN's country.

Note: optimistic_pessimist1985 may be wrong because I, as a Singaporean still have to present my passport whenever I visit Indonesia and Malaysia (they are both ASEAN members). The officer then will stamp my passport. And there is NO WEBSITE called http://www.asean-visa.com.

in addition to their efforts to introduce a single ASEAN visa are also actively working for passport-free-travel by citizens of ASEAN nations traveling between member countries of the association. Under this scheme, passports would be replaced by a ASEAN Identity Card or Smart Card that would allow full freedom of movement within the 10-member region.

It would be similar to SHENGEN VISA. One Shengen Visa with multiple entry is enough for you to travel most of the Europe (France, Italy, Sweden, Romania, Germany for example)...
