Why cant there be more interracial(sp?) couples in america?

I never really see a black person with a mexican.Or mexican and white.Or asian and black.Or white and balck.

I'm very white and my wife is very dark Chicano (which is what militant Mexican-Americans like to call themeselves).

I dated a number of women from other races, and I grew up in the South. (There is a Confederate flag in my closet!.... figuratively, not literally) I just like dark beauties!

The only time I have ever had any issues was one time in New Orleans and it came from a group of young Black men who harrassed my date for being out with me. They weren't threatening, just verbal about it.

I have a good friend who is Black and I have witnessed him verbally abused by a group of Black women because he dates white and Latino girls. It was pretty ugly.

I have gotten a lot of "looks", particularly in small towns. But I'm a big guy and people hold their tounges.

I think it threatens people when you cross what they see as being boundries. This goes both ways.

FYI,the 2000 US Census Bureau showed that the number of white men marrying black women INCREASED 40% from 1990!

Now of course that's not including the couples who date,live together etc.

b/c most people don't date or marry outside of their race,just face it. there are interracial couples in the u.s. but the percentage is very small contrary to what the media tells you. people need to get off their hang ups,just b/c you want someone of another race doesn't mean everyone else should too. hell, i myself have a preference,which is blk men.

You must not live in a major city. I see it all the time...there are tons of mixed couples..all kinds of mixed couples.

We're both really happy and it's great. I honestly don't understand what the big deal is.

coz all those races you mentioned above hate each other to bits. im black married to white, we live in spain, and his family really were a pain in the as..s to me, so i guess most pple are afraid of that.
