I will tell a joke
One guy dies and goes straight to hell. The devil meets him, congrats him, and starts showing everything around
"We have a pub right here, you can drink as much as you want, some girls are there so be sure you have fun cause we all do and here you can see your mother in law burning.."
The man gets very happy - paradise, not hell! And sees some poeple burning in the huge pots, being jabbed by other devils, suffering a lot. So teh man asks his companion
"Who are they?"
"Oh, those are the Christians, they always thought the hell is like this, so we dont want to dissappoint them.."
Hell is what you think it is

Have you ever read the story of Sisyphus and Camus' book "The Myth of Sisyphus" based on it?
"Sisyphus was a character in Greek mythology who was lauded as one of the cleverest, yet most devious men in history, with a propensity for flouting the traditions of Greek hospitality by murdering his guests. He was eventually condemned after deceiving first Death himself and then Hades, Lord of the Underworld, in order to escape his inevitable demise. As punishment for his audacity, he was sentenced to be blinded and to perpetually roll a giant boulder up a mountain to the peak, only to have it inevitably roll back down the mountain into the valley."
That would be my punishment in Hell (if I believed in it), because it has been my punishment in this Life - specifically in the form of trying to get others to see the world the slightest bit differently then they have been programmed/endoctrinated to see it.
In his book, Camus argues that life in meaningless and the only meaning it holds is that which we create. He develops the idea of the "absurd man," "the man who is periodically conscious of the ultimate futility of life." He sees Sisyphus as being "the ultimate absurd hero" and "presents Sisyphus's ceaseless and pointless toil as a metaphor for modern lives spent working at futile jobs in factories and offices". He sees the tragedy as being the fact that only rarely does the absurdity of it become conscious.
I am all too conscious of the absurdity of what I try to do. And yet I still attempt it, every single day.

Aquinas said one of the joys of Heaven is lloking down on the sufferings of those in Hell. THAT's your job in Hell.
Isn't Christianity just peachy?

It's fun.
Or as I heard, no one will be able to answer it, because "God's love is too complex you to understand--" -- why you have to burn in hell for eternity instead of just being "dead"; not existing.
