and im not bein sexist, bc it has nothing to do with, "wud u b mortified if ur mechanist was a girl" bc it's a man looking up ur most personal, private part of ur body. its just awkward.

No. I guess little girls might (ages 13-18). But once you mature and become comfortable with your body, it doesn't matter. Trust me, it doesn't matter to the doctor!

You shouldnt be. If its a doctor that specializes in that practice then you should show them the same respect as any other doctor. Thats like someone saying "Would you be mortified/shoked if your mechanic was a girl?". Dont be sexist. Besides you should look up information on ANY doctor before you decide that you want them to do an examination like THAT on you. And if you are still concerned then you can always carry a bottle of mace in your purse and keep it close to you in case anything decides to pop-off.

I didn't think so

I always prefer a male gyno to a femail gyno.

I have had both, and I totally prefer a guy.

Mails are always gentlier, and usually a lot more comforting - to say nothing of much more willing to talk to me, and answer my questions. I ALWAYS get good service when i go toa guy.

Femail gynos are always in a hurry, and seem to be disgusted by having to treat me. I ALWAYS feel judged when I go to a girl, and i almost never get the information I need.

I know lots of women who have male gynecologists and wouldn't have it any other way. I personally prefer females. I figure they would be more sympathetic and I wouldn't feel like I was on some bizarre date.

I prefer to have a woman perform my exam but I have had a man do it in the past. It wasn't the worst experience but I am more comfortable with a woman.

It's not bad. Mine is a guy, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Female doctors irritate me anyway, and a female who wanted to look at that all day just creeps me out.

No. I have only had guy gynecologist. As long as nothing funny happens, I have no problems.

Mortified, no - uncomfortable, yes...but then, male doctors make me uncomfortable in general.
