Tums and Rolaids should be fine, it's usually painkillers that can cause problems. But you should always double-check with your doctor first because what might be ok for one person during their pregnancy might not be good for someone else during their pregnancy.
Tums and Rolaids are mostly calcium, and calcium is a neccessity for many women anyway, especially before and during birth (as well as after) to keep their bone strength. You should also be making sure you get plenty of Folic Acid (which I think is also in Tums and Rolaids, but I don't have a bottle near me to check). Find a bottle of one or the other and see what the label says.
Good luck! And Congratulations!

Is it ok to take Extra Strength Tums or Rolaids during pregnancy? Or do they have to be regular strength?

If you have any questions you should always give your doctor or nurse a call and ask them.
Most of the time those are ok to take; however, there are some doctors out there that would advise against it. They may suggest something else for you if you are having stomach upset (most pregnant women do as they are farther along).
Never be afraid to call you doc for anything. That is what they are there for and what you are paying them for. They have heard it all and probably many times and NEVER feel like your question is stupid or be embarrassed about it. If you have the question then it needs to be answered!
Good luck and just FYI...if you are farther along in the pregnancy and getting the stomach upset/gas, try eating smaller meals a little more frequently. Try to stay away from spicy foods too. The baby is taking up much of the room in your stomach (of course the baby is in the uterus; however, that is moving up and pressing on your stomach, diaphram, and lungs...not to mention pushing on your bladder!). Ohe, the joys of being pregnant!
Honeslty, enjoy it though. Enjoy this time alone with your baby. Talk to him/her. They can hear you. Even read to them now!
I even wrote a letter to each of my sons during my pregnancy and while I was in labor. I wrote another the day after I gave birth (that day I was just too whipped!) and I've written a letter to them around each birthday since (ok, i've missed a couple, but for most of them I have). I plan on giving them the letters when they get married...or when their wives get pregnant. Haven't decided which will be better yet.
Good luck and give the doc a call...

Yes I think it's fine. Tums and Rolaid are mostly calcium, there's nothing in it that may potentially harm your baby - even the Extra Strength kind. Most over-the-counter medicines are safe for pregnant women, but as always there are some exceptions, so make sure you check with your doctor with any medication that you are planning to take. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
*With painkillers, only take Tylenol or acetaminophen - avoid Ibuprofen such as Advil and Aspirins.*
Goodluck with your pregnancy!!

Ask your doctor, cause everyone is different, but I would have DIED without Extra Strength! :)
