Why on earth haven't you fed your fish? Yes. It will die if you continue to starve it.

Also, some new bettas are finnicky with food. A lot of the time, the food you have is different than what they're used to at the store. My bettas have all spit out their food the first day or so before adjusting to something new. Feed him normally (3 pellets in the morning, 2 in the evening, and feeding a dried bloodworm in the evening instead of pellets every few days for a treat), but if the food is still there after 15 minutes, take it out and throw it away.
Pretty soon your betta will figure out that it's edible.
If you're not even going through the trouble of feeding the poor thing, then maybe you should return him to the store or find someone willing to adopt him.

Bettas can survive quite awhile without food and tend to be very hearty fish. That of course, is no reason to starve the fish. Also, if you are not even feeding the fish, I know you are not doing the water changes that the fish needs. What will really kill the betta is the build up of ammonia in the water. If you are keeping the betta in a bowl that has no filtration and not changing and conditioning the water at least every other day, the fish will develop fin/tail rot or some other disease and possible die. I have a really good idea....why not give the betta to someone who knows how to and is willing to care for it properly.

Most likely not unless it was already sick, or you've done something else wrong. I've had friends who recieved a lost shipment of bettas a couple of week late. Most of the bettas survived. (Of course the bettas were all in good health prior to shipping.)
You should get some betta food from a fish store ASAP. It should have worms/shrimp/fish as it's primary ingredent. You should feed the poor guy a very small amount twice a day for at least 2 days. (Small amount ~= what he can eat in a minute) Then settle into to feeding him either once a day, or every other day. Please read the below link on betta care.

The fish won't die if you feed it soon. It is very common in the wild for fish to go a week or more without food. And don't forget to change the water frequently with de-chlorinated water!

It probably wont if u give it food soon. Betta fish are used to harsh conitions and can live for a long time if taken care of. I have had mine for 2 years and counting.

You are a very mean person.. what would you do if you were locked in your house with no food? How would you feel if you didnt eat for 5+ days.. Please feed your fish so it doesn't die. I hate how people think if fish die it doesn't matter. Fish have feelings too :(

Probably not, those little fish do not eat much, I think the fish food bottle says to give them like one or two pellets every other day or something like that, anyways, my point is they don't need to eat a lot so it is probably fine, but I would feed it now.

Beta fish can live over 30 days without being fed. I don't reccomend it though.

And you've not fed the poor thing WHY??? If you weren't going to care for your pet, why did you get one in the first place? TOTALLY irresponsible.
Feed the damned thing; it's not like it can hop out of its bowl and scramble up some eggs for it self, right???
