4 weeks. Do not change them now. You have piercing studs in, which are thicker posts than regular earrings. If you put in regular earrings now, your holes will be tighter and it will be tough for you to change earrings later.

Well, I just got my ears pierced about 4 weeks ago, and I've noticed how my ears have gone to like, really sensitive and stuff and now they're more used to the piercing. I'm gonna wait the six weeks, probably even more, because everyone's ears heal at a different rate. Some people even have to wait 8 weeks. So, if you want terrible ear infections and pain in your ears all day, red ears and they itch like crazy and you wont want anyone seeing how terrible your ears look, then change them before the 6-8 weeks. But, it you want healthy ears and being able to change you earrings easily and when you look at your ears your happy, and not feeling bad that you got them pierced, then wait the 6-8 weeks. trust me. it's for your own good. You can wear really cute earrings after that. BUT, you have to wear POST TYPE EARRINGS for the first at least 6 MONTHS. Because, post earrings are bigger than other kinds of earrings, and you need to wear them at least for the first 6 months to keep the hole the right size, because if you wear other other kinds of earrings for even, a few minutes, then your holes will shrink and it will be uncomfortable to wear bigger kinds of earrings, and that's not good. But, if you mean your cartilage instead of your ear lobes, then you have to wait 8-12 weeks to change the earrings, and at least a year to change the KIND of earrings, meaning other than post earrings. Remember, it's for your own good. Have a nice time in California!!

they say to wait 6 weeks. but when my daughter got hers pierced the earring seemed to be changing color so i put solid gold ones in when she had only had her ears pierced for about 2 weeks. the main thing is to have your hands, the earrings, and your work space really clean and then make sure to keep your earrings really clean for the rest of the healing time. my daughter has had hers for almost a year now and they are doing just fine.

When you first get your ears pierced, you should leave the earrings in until your ears are completely healed. This usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks. If you don't, your holes could close up and you'll have to go through everything all over again! (http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/grow/girlstuff/pierced_ears.html)

They say to wait 6 weeks before you remove the earrings and put in new ones

The longer you wait, the better.
Wait at least a month, and be sure to use ONLY hypo-allergenic earring for the entire first year.

If you go ahead and change them immediately, it will be very painful. Also, first earrings have a very thick stem. If you change to thin-stem earrings, you may not be able to wear thicker stems in the future.

Take a good care of your ears and if you don't get infection, you can change earrings after 2 weeks

I think you have to wait about a month. My cousin and I changed hers on the same day b/c she wanted to wear real diamonds instead of the cz. It hurt like hell and her holes began to close almost as soon as we removed them. So, give your ears time to heal b4 removing the earrings
