no. once your shutsdown or goes into stand by it halts all actions.
when you shut down it closes all programs one by one the initlaizes the shutdon faze. Just keep this in mind. once limewire shuts don it canccles all donloads. may even promt you. it is possoble that it picks up where the download las left off.

uh no don't you think it needs to be connected to the Internet to be able to download, therefore if your computer is off it is not connected.
