No, you are not legally obliged to do- whatever, but you are morally obliged to do it.
When they say that- Do you do it?

Morals are often too situational to be useful.
Morals are often decided by generatons before yours - who have little understanding of how life is now.
Morals are often religious in nature - a profoundly bad way to do that.

PERSONAL Morals are better.
But there ARE times to do "the wrong thing".

In danger of becoming extinct, I would say... As far as I'm concerned it's not easy to overlook my moral principles even when I do not run the risk of getting caught. Most people, however, are merely considering their own interests, disregarding other people's feelings and "trifling" things such as morality issues. I know that you may feel stupid at times for trying to do the right thing but you're not; you're just stronger and less superficial than others. Hope this helps. Take care.

depends on the situation. If I would feel bad by not doing something - then I will do it. Alternatively, if doing something makes me feel good, then I will. But if someone 'tells' me I have an obligation - I'll dig my heals in!!! I don't like being told what my 'moral obligations' or any other for that matter, are!!

Sometimes it looks that way, but they're not entirely. Personally, my sense of morals were given to me by God, and it is out of love for Him (not obligation) that I do follow them. I'm not perfect, but I do the best I can, and I do ask God to help me. In fact I rely on Him completely.

Romans 8:5
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."

Psalms 37:31
"The law of God is in his heart; his feet do not slip."

Psalms 40:8
"I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is written in my heart."

Psalm 119 (all)
