Hi there! I am Belgian living in Mexico and I have my own European restaurant called GIGI´S. You can find more on www.mazamitla.org but it is in Spanish! Anyhow here in Mexico exists a typical chocolate based sauce called "MOLE". Sometimes You can find it in special supermarkets. If not You just add to a normal gravy some dark non sugar chocolate and seasoning it to your taste. In Mexico of course they will add some chili, but that is up to You! Good luck and let me know how it tasted like! leymemphis@yahoo.com.mx

CHOCOLATE GRAVY
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
2 heaping tbsp flour
1 cup water
4 tbsp butter
In a bowl mix sugar, cocoa, and flour. Blend well using a wire whisk.
In a sauce pan heat water and butter until butter is melted.
Add flour and cocoa mixture slowly, whisking it in. Cook 5 minutes or until thick after mixture comes to a boil. Stir this often to prevent sticking.
