can anybody please explain to me why the people of Ethiopia are dying of hunger? Is their inability to farm a result of deforestation? Or is there alot more to this such as a corrupt government or difficult climate conditions? their government is obviously not doing enough to help them so why don't they leave the country?

i think you stated most of the problem in your question. It also has to do with an unstable government.......war can break out at anytime in Ethiopia. Check out the link for some general information.

You will need to take a better look at the government or lack of free government in countries like Ethiopia. It's almost impossible to Farm or even run a McDonald's in a place where anything you own can be seized or stolen at any moment. People do try to leave countries like that. They are what we call refugees. Or in where I live illegal immigrants. (insert euphemism here: "undocumented worker....displaced Mexican national " )

Although climate conditions contribute to their plight, the main problem is corruption. Even when money, aid, and food are sent by do-gooders, not much of it reaches the suffering people. Food rots on ships because corrupt ports refuse to offload it before being paid. And when the food is offloaded much of it goes to feed armies and militias instead of to the hungry. Money often ends up in personal bank accounts. Medicine is stolen and sold on the black market, or given to the military. Its a mess, and that is why i never contribute. I would love to see aid to the needy, but refuse to give to the greedy.

Well its not that easy to just leave the country it's very expensive and most of the countries citizens can't aford to do that, and even if tey were albe to leave where would they go to. The economy of the country relies hevaily on farming and farming, howver for most of teh year it is very dry and irragation costa are very verexpensive , thus proving that framing isn't that prfitable. The goverment can mayeb help by giving prodcuers incentives liek btter market for their crops etc.

the reason they are dying is because the government is very harsh.every thing is ver expensive and the forest are get cut every day so there is no rain and 80 % of Ethiopians are depending their lives on farming and now there is no rain they get hungry and die.i lived there 14 yrs and the hunger is very bad you can see every bone of their bodies and you can`t do anything because you are barley living .i wish there is some thing i can do .

The main deal is that two people that don't have two grains of rice to rub together get together and make more people, and more people, and more people.....
