If I'm understanding the question, a mother's instinct for her newborn baby should protect a son from circumcision rather than allow it. Good question. Social peer pressure and cultural customs are powerful. Anything more powerful than a mother's defensive instincts must be notable.

Peer pressure is powerful.

In some countries young boys, 12 years old, are circumcised with a dull knife. So, to what extent will culturally accepted customs go?

In Africa young girls age 12 have the clitoris removed. Shocking. In fact, young women are taken abroad from the US and other countries for circumcision. The reasons given for the practice are astounding. The parents are so set in this custom that they will go to great lengths to follow through with the practice.

A mother's instinct is to protect her children and do what is best for them. Circumcision gives your boys a life time of protection from all sorts of nasty things!

There are a lot of good reasons for men to be circumcised! Health, hygiene and sex.

I had my sons circumcised after my youngest brother had tons of problems with his foreskin and needed to be circumcised! I really think the risk caused by foreskin is really underestimated. Given my sons' reactions circumcision seems pretty easy and quick by comparision.

I want my males circumcised!

Lots of love,

it did for me. I was pregnant and watched a video on cercumcision (sp) and there is NO way that baby didnt feel it (like they say). I would never have had the foreskin removed if I had a boy. Luckily, it was the most beautiful girl I have ever made! *smirk* I dont believe having the foreskin removed is cleaner, either. Rather, I think it just dulls the sensation for the man, and he would never even know it as how could he know any different?

I think it does...But so does getting a baby's ears pierced. It is up to the mother to decide what she wants to do. I got both my girls ears pierced when they were 5 months old. If I ever have a boy he will be circumcised, I personally find a man with a foreskin unattractive.

foreskin removal is a form of protecting the baby boy. as the expectant mother of a baby boy, i 100% plan on circumcision, to reduce his risk of getting UTI's and STD's.

Its a social thing. Mother's either aren't educated as to the hazards or simply don't care. It's all about appearances. No one bothers to educate these women about the sensitivity of the tissue they're removing. No one tells them that the a circumcised penis has 60% less sensitivity than an uncircumcised penis. Personally, I consider it no different than castrating a little girl.

tough question..personally i wouldnt subject a child that has no freedom of choice yet

ive aso seen a tv documentry on people who have deep psycological problems due to being circumsised to the point that there are many help organisations worlwide dealing with the issue

only you and your parter can make this call..you have to decide what your reason/motivation is and how valid it is

It does...I have a 4month old son, and it broke my heart to think of that being done. I can't imagine how bad it had to hurt! It is important its done though, and he'll never in a million years remember it being done.
