It's a very good movie, the only Stephen King book that has been translated to the big screen and stayed true to the book.

It's one of my Top 20 movies of all time. A true classic based on a book by an accomplished Author- Stephen King.
A brilliant movie with an intelligent plot.
And check out the cast: Morgan Freeman; Tim Robbins, etc-Marvelous !!

Captivating and extremely entertaining theme that builds u up and leaves u at the end of the movie feeling 'Hopeful'.

Interesting potrayal of prison life. Great story, great directing, splendid production.

Moral of the story- "Patience is the key"; "Try and make the best of a bad situation"; and "Where there's a Will, there's a Way".

I am tempted to say it is my all time favorite but I'm afraid I might be forgetting one. Anyways, it is an excellent movie from the acting to the story. The characters are very human and make mistakes but in the end, good triumphs. It really was enlightening on how the outside world may appear to long time inmates too. And you can't go wrong with Morgan Freeman narrating. Great movie!

Shawshank Redemption is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Seeing the guys drink beer on the roof is a classic scene. Seeing Andy enjoy his freedom is even better!

In spite of being one of those formula films that grinds 'em in the dirt and lifts 'em to the skies, you fall 'n soar with its almost Mozartesque build up. Robbins and Freeman are bang on and the last scene when the camera sweeps on to the beach is one helluva shot and ending. Did I say Yes?!
