Hi there, I'm with you. I love Fantasia - although I could not position her as my 'idol', She has been very busy. Let's see - American Idol" season three winner Fantasia Barrino will soon star in a Lifetime movie, playing a role that should be familiar: herself. Shooting on "Life Is Not a Fairy Tale: The Fantasia Barrino Story" is scheduled to begin this month, with Emmy winner Debbie Allen ("Fame") directing. Barrino will be joined in the cast by Loretta Devine ("Boston Public," "Dreamgirls"), Tony winner Viola Davis ("King Hedley," CBS' "Stone Cold") and Kadeem Hardison ("A Different World," "White Men Can't Jump").

Barrino may not have as splashy a career as some of her fellow "American Idol" winners and runners-up will have in the first couple of years following their victories. She, among those winners, has the most versatile talent and the best chance of having a career that lasts decades. Oh, she may not play big concert halls for any of that time, but Fantasia is a true musician who will be always be welcome in jazz and pop clubs and who might build a specialty niche but will have a niche. We all love her and anxiously wait her next album. I think the problem with her is the kinds of songs she selects limits her :cross-over ability. She definitely appeals to the "r&b audience - and there is mothing wrong with that - but I hope that the people who are working with her will help mold her and create a more diverse set of material and over all 'look' so that she can be more "marketable" and acceptable to the world. We are a diverse world today and I want to see her make it. BIG TIME!
