If you are constantly around people who are studying, and learning, thus creating an atmosphere of education, then yes, your grades will probably improve. Note also the possibility of meeting people who either are currently taking some of your classes, or have taken some of you classes recently. You may also be this helpful person to another, as you stay for a longer amount of time.
On the other hand, dorm life can be extremely distracting. The combonation of pranks, loud noises(tv, radio, ect.) can hinder you quite a bit. It is also going to be easier to cram on campus, where you don't have to incorporate drive time into your schedule.
In closing, I would have to say that you are better off in aquiring good study habits, and not rely on one place or another for grade improvement.

No, not necessarily. I believe living in a dorm could do many things to your grades.

You have less responsibility. For example many things are taken care of for you. No dishes to wash. No electricity bills to pay.
So it does free up some time. But no, actually only you can improve your grades. Changes in your behavior will be the key, not where you live.

every thing has advantages and disadvantages.......
it will improve ur grades, provided u use the freedom in proper manner.........one of my friend who scored a very high rank in the state got corrupted by drugs in his dorm, while one can expect a poor student to pick up in his grades due to help from his dorm-mates.
it all depends on how we use it.

Not neccesarily because if you live in dorms their are lots more parties and more free time on your hand. Also not everyone want's to live in a 14X8 ft room.
