I would have liked to have voted Tom C as Best Answer - I still don't understand how this bloody site works - as when I wrote what I'm writing now - 'Best Answer' wasn't available - it seems you get an amount of time, then you get this Answer this Question available to you - just don't remember seeing it before. This is what all this Resolved Question bit is about I suppose and the No Answer and voting and all that crap is when you didn't answer by the deadline. Have I got this basically right - I can't stand reading through instructions - they bore me - CAN someone tell me if this is about right?)
I liked a lot of the answers to my question. Tom C got it on the nail though, especially about that absolute rubbish Big Brother. That programme is not for CHAVS - it's for INBREADS. The BBC is getting worse and worse in some directions like to much bloody sport on BBC2 and BBC1 should be scrapped altogether as it is just one long transmission of CHAV TV, except when they dain to put a decent film on, because then you don't have to edit it out all the flaming adverts. There maybe light at the end of the tunnel with BBC3 and 4 - seen some very thought provoking and controversial documentaries on these two channels, but then again you can't get these on analogue. This country is so mean - since we have to pay the bloody licence fee and we have no choice about the change over from analogue to digital in 2012 (same year as the olympics - ain't that going to be fun - which do you think is going to be the bigger cockup - the changeover or the olympics), then I feel they should be giving these damn settop boxes away for free - but I'm forgetting where I'm living - where we still think we're living in the last war - this country still has a sense of ''lights out'' and an intrenched '9-5' mentality, (I mean you still can't go to your local supermarket 24 hours a day EVERYDAY because of the flaming church) - a ration book mentality - which is evident in having to pay a tv licence in the first bloody place. I remember a documentary crew trying to explain to people in TIMES SQUARE that people in England have to pay a licence fee to watch a television - ''a what, a license you say, for what, to watch tv''? Yeah! Can you blame them for their confusion and looking incredulous at the tv crew filming them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. Saturday mornings were really good when we had Swap Shop and Tiswas in the 80`s. Its gone downhill after a while.
No Chris Tarrant wouldnt be fit enough to do Tiswas again and i think Lenny Henry would be a bit old too!

Never mind having kid's programmes on TV on Saturday mornings, they have enough stuff to watch all day every day already, what about adult viewing on a Saturday? Grown up kids would love any Gerry Anderson shows, old Dr. Who, Worzel Gummidge and Catweazle episodes, along with a few films. As it is there's usually nothing worth switching on for until late afternoon.

They just assume the Tiswas generation are running about doing 'car pulling' positive achievement crap for their kids and we don't want to sit about and watch TV. Well, we do want to sit on the sofa and scratch our ***. That's why we have to invest in DVDs the likes of Family Guy and American Dad and do naff all but laugh with a bowl of cornflakes in hand. Take the initiative.

Its all down to ratings, what programmes get watched the most and when. The ratings will get studied and the programme scheduler will try to improve ratings. However, for those of us who don't like sat morning TV get a DVD player or Sky+ then you can watch whatever you missed while you were out friday night!

because the presenters aren't educated so they cant talk properly or communicate so they shout and and talk through stupid puppets that make daft noises all the older kids programs had a message or made you think about things now its all noise and rubbish i remember when kids TV was watched by the adults as well it was a family thing and very entertaining but you have to pay for good entertainers that's why we don't see them anymore

because they can get away with it, i dont have a tv because i dont want to pay the TV liscence fee because it's just not worth it - ok i havent got kids to entertain - tv programming quality has been dropping for years and that was such a valid point made by the person said they paid for cable but STILL got adverts..on a similar note the BBC advertises lots of products all the time all with the BBC logo...so much for it bieng financed by the liscence fee

To try and liven up the nations youngsters, who are being entertained whilst their knackered parents are still in bed, as a result of their difficult week at work and Friday night indulgences.
Change over to BBC2 where quite often you will find that instead of trying to activate and remove the calories from our children's backsides, they are trying to add them by suggesting loads and loads of calorific recipes. (For the benefit of parents who have a TV in the bedroom, and are going to Tesco on Saturday afternoon.)
