According to George Carlin, showering everyday is exessive. But he says you do need to tend to the four vital areas (armpits, asshole, crotch, and teeth) daily.

Most people shower daily to remove the excess build up of dead skin cells and odororous sweat that accumulate on the body throughout the day, however, showering doesn't remove as much of the dead skin cells as a bath does. Reason for this is that that the 'soaking' softens the 'glue' that holds the cells together allowing them to be sloughed off with a bath scrungy or washcloth more easily. If your body hasn't been exposed to excess heat or humidity throughout the day you could probably get away with showering or bathing every other day but it comes down to personal preference. Most people shower every day just to get that 'refreshing feeling' which energizes them in the morning or relaxes them in the evening.

At the very least daily. Depends on what you do all day. Are you a hog farmer or do you work in air conditioning behind a desk? Always shower before sex. Always shower before you go to the doctor.

This depends on what you do, where you live, and how your body is. Some people can shower every day, whereas, some people can only shower every other day- it dries out their skin/hair. I have to shower every day due to sweating, but my mom can has to shower every other day or she will literally scratch herself silly. She gets too dried out. She needs the oils her body makes. If you live in an overly hot, humid place you should probably shower every day. If you live in an overly cool place you might be able to shower every other day.

Dear Curious,
I always begin the day with a shower. It helps me get my blood flowing, as well as get my day started. If I am doing any aerobic activities, There is always time for a shower before bedtime as well....
I hope this helps,
Lonnie

shower daily but depending upon how oily your skin is depends on if you need to soap all over or just the stinky parts (underarms, groin etc). I have a child who never uses soap and he is always clean, smells good and has nice skin. I have another child who must soap all over daily and shampoo as he is oily and sweaty. Everyone is different. Know your own body and consider how others perceive (smell) you. :)

Once a day. Showering more will cause your skin to dry out. Showering less will cause your skin to be dirty and greasy

once or twice a day. i mean when it is the summer you sweat and that is disgusting and in order to get rid of that odor and that sticky liquid you must scrub thouroughly in the shower and the pool doesn't count as a bath!!
