Love, trust, commitment, communication and honesty. (God being number one) Without all of these things there really isn't a marriage...

For a man and woman to become one, spiritually and physically, by vowing their commitment amongst witnesses. Some believe becoming one is a physical (sexual) act which consumates the marriage. Children would be the physical proof of two becoming one.
