You could play patty cake, Peek a boo, Where is it? (hide an item under a blanket and have them find it), Where is the part? (say a body part and then point to it).

There's a number of different things you can play with a 1yr old.
Singing games and tickling games.
This little piggy went to market!
Head and shoulders, knees and toes
London bridge
Just about anything you can do with the baby that tickles works too!
and don't forget PEEKABOO!!!

I have a one year old and I just bought my husband a book called, "Rookie Dad" by Susan Fox that shows games for babies. I looked through it and it really is something Dad OR Mom could use. You can also check out www.babycenter.com for more information. Have fun! This is SUCH a cute age. :)

Play hide and seek I always play that with my 1 yr old cousin. Building blocks too.

I started playing counting games.. I would sing the numbers and we would bang with pots and pans for every number.. My daughter is now 2 and can count pretty high and babies like sounds and lights.. I would do something educational but also fun.. Its never to late to start learning.. Also they have good ideas on www.nickjr.com
