They will issue a bench warrant for your arrest. This means if you are pulled over for any minor traffic violation, you will be immediately arrested and taken to jail. And, even if you manage to steer clear of the law, eventually they will come to find you and haul you away.

This happened to a friend of mine who missed a preliminary court date - it was literally a 5 minute arraignment that he missed. They picked him up at home on a Thursday night, and he didn't get out of the county jail until TWELVE days later.

The system does not like it when you don't obey their orders and jump through their hoops. They tend to get very slow at paperwork when you have disrespected them. They have the power, so don't get into a pissing contest with them. You will lose.

Go turn yourself in and get it done.

You need to provide more information about the context of why you were supposed to show up. Were you arrested? Were you under a court order to appear? Did they ask nicely for you to come to their office? The answer to these questions would determine what penalties, if any, might apply. I can't tell from the information that you if you were under any legal obligation to come down to their office.

Why do you need to have your picture and fingerprints taken? If is is court ordered, then an arrest warrant will probably be issued by the Judge.

The warrant for arrest remains in effect and when you eventually get pulled over they will arrest you. Then in court the DA will use that against you. Your bail will be higher also. They will you show you as non-cooperative.
