"Recruitment Consultant" is a vague title and means something different to everyone. There are two sides to recruitment: working for the company's interest and working for the candidate's interest.

On the company side, a Recruitment Consultant can be a Headhunter/Recruiter who helps companies find and hire people, or it can also be someone who makes recommendations to the company on their recruitment strategy.

On the candidate side, a Recruitment Consultant can be a Headhunter/Recruiter calling about a job they're working to fill, or someone that makes recommendations on how to go about your job search, provides resume services, interview coaching, etc.

I use the term "company" loosely, when in reality a "company" can also be a college, the military, etc...anyone involved in recruiting people for some purpose.

They act as a middleman between you the employer. They probably have contacts with different organizations and always keep an eye on those organizations activities.

Apart from that they help you write attractive CV or cover letter, because that sometimes determines your chance of being called for an interview.

Occasionally they arrange workshops on issues such as, 'Customer Relationship Management' etc....

But rather than developing skills, they attempt to make you 'seem' potential. Of coarse they take charges, that is inevitable.

They are not as bad pple might think.

I AM A RECRUITENT CONSULTANT

And i resent the Not allot points....

Honestly we focus on the Customer not the candidate....... Candidates are hard to find, Customers are hard to keep.

So we do what ever the customer wants and get them what ever they need.

I work from 7am to 8pm monday to Saturday calling numpties and sorting out good candidates from bad ones..........I get paid shed loads to do it and i love it but i also know it won't last forever!!
