is it possible to connect a pc and laptop together via usb lead and transfer files from pc to laptop?
i want to install windows xp on my laptop but my laptop only had floppy.

you can with a special USB cable found here: http://hardwaresecrets.com/article/248 but if they both have network cards you can use a crossover cable. If the laptop doesn't have a CD then maybe it's to old to support XP? make sure it meets XP's requirements, otherwise it'll be slowwwww. Also, if you have a large enough usb key ( 1 gig ) you can make it bootable and copy the CD onto it, that would also work. Good luck.
