Why is it that Americans seem so out raged at the fact that a few terroist killed 2986 American civilans when during the second world war they seemed contempt at dropping a Atomic bomb on two whole cities of innocent civilans? Would it be right for Japan two attack America in retalation of targeting non-military targets?
I see military targets as fair game dont get me confused there. But innocent life taken is not fair and America seems hypocritical. So is America better than so called terrosist

First things first... Crude or sophisticated? I don't even know what to say, except killing is pretty crude no matter how you do it, if killing more people in one instant signifies Sophistication I guess it's safe to say the US is by far the most sophisticated country in the world.

Secondly, move? Immigrate maybe? Why, everyone who is born in the USA has the right and responsibility to criticize the US. Back in the good old days back before highly sophisticated debate took place on Yahoo Answers, our founding fathers insisted upon it, saying that the people should rise up and overthrow the government if it became corrupt, not move away.

Finally, I don't know who's worse... I think the US bombed Japan with the intent of ending a War, whereas the terrorists interned on starting one... But in both cases civilian targets were chosen and wrong is wrong. The Pentagon however was definitely a military target also chosen by the terrorists, definitely making the whole thing an act of war. Terrorists are bad, evil, and terrible worse even than our own government, because they have only one agenda, terror. Our government in addition to destroying, conquering and bombing other countries to ashes has also the agenda of providing for our well fare, because of that I'd have to say America is definitely a notch or two better.

War is hell, you reap what you sew. They started it.
How many people would have died if we just kept on bombing Japan with gas bombs? If massive civilian lives were the target Tokyo would have been hit. Why were those two cities targeted (I give you a hint one wasn't a primary target but both manufactured______.) Do some GD research and have respect for the dead, as well as the living.

Next "only" 2900 lives? How about those in Africa that die everyday at the hand of AQ? In Kuwait, Germany, Australia, Africa and Indonesia (ALL BEFORE US GOT INVOLVED) How many lives should it have taken to react?

You are like the punk little kid who PICKS a fight, gets the snot knocked out of you THEN turns around and whines that the other kid is a bully.

Let's put a couple of your statements into historical context.

1) Japan attacked America thereby commiting an act of war and drawing us into WWII.
2) Dropping bombs during a war is not a terrorist act. Although I do not now, nor have I ever condoned the use of nuclear weapons.
3) Prior to the first bomb being dropped we dropped leavelets all over Japan warning the people and the high command of our intent. Which the Japanese high command subsequently ignored.
4) Japan could have surrendered after the first bomb was dropped but instead chose to continue fighting, and in doing so put their citizens at further risk.
5) Japan could have continued the war and attempted to attack any number of American cities in retaliation had they chosen too.

America may engage in war, but we do not engage in terrorism.

Dropping the Bomb had nothing terrorism. We dropped that bomb for one reason and one reason alone and that was to show the world that we have it a we will use it. Everyone back the F**K up because there is a new kid on the block. Not saying it was right or wrong but if we didn't use first someone else would have and we might not be where in the 90's. I say 90's because I don't think anyone what to be in this decade of chaos.

ok here it goes there are some differances that are hard to ignore on both pearl harbor and 9 /11 we were not at war on both these morning out of the blue came death and destruction even tho both times came out of nowhwere at least pearl harbor was a milatary target those men were in uniform the twin towers have no strategic value so to me 911 is much worse.as to why we dropped the bombs on those cities your question might be more like this ''why did the japanese govt not surrender when truman told them flat out give up or face a rain of ruin the likes of man has never seen '' and after hiroshama why did they let another fall.until they gave up we were at war that simple so to retaliate when the war is over would mean more war would it not also if we did not get the bomb first japan was working on it. we find that u boat on the way to japan was carrying atomic materials . what was that for medical treatment.? things are differant when you are at war both those cities were destroyed during acts of war .both 911and dec7 were BEFORE war was declared both nagasaki and hiroshama were DURING big differance dont you think

America had to defeat Japan at all cost and dropping bomb and killing half a million was a more humanitarian way to end the war than letting 10 million more Japanese die in a ground invasion. All wars are bad. Your point is well taken, from terrorist point of view they are also fighting a war with America, which they want to win. You have to terrorize your enemy into submission to win a war.If you don't want to be terrorist abolish all war disband all armed forces and hope that your former enemies will do the same.

It's true what you say, and the reason we drop the bomb was to inflict terror into the Japaneses people.

However, America is better. We did it to save lives.

Towards the end of WW2 Japan was losing, but they weren't going to quit fighting until all of their troops were dead. This is why we drop the bomb. We needed to scared the government of Japan to quit, so that we didn't have to kill all of their soldiers, and many of our own.

But after we did it, we didn't leave them to die. We help Japan by spending millions to rebuild her. That is why even today we have such a great relationship with Japan.

So even though I agree that dropping the bomb was an evil thing to do, we are still better than the terrorist.

Yes it is. And if you aren't intelligent enough to see the difference in the situations you aren't intelligent enough to understand my response so I'll not even bother to post it.

To wedjb: You use the words but do you know the meanings? You chance the circumstance to fit your scenerio. For instance you say the US is ruled by a group of Dictators. By defintion this is not possible. You say we attacked Afghanistan and other places and killed innocent people. I'll counter we aided the mujhadin kick out the Taliban , and some innocent people died as a result. We overthrew Saddam Hussein and sons and there were non combatants that died as well.

I'll not bother with responding to the rest of your diatribe other than to say cranial rectitus is curable -- Seek help soon or go join Al Qaeda and become educated.

Well, I think that most terrorists don't give a rat's a$$ who they kill, they even kill thier own. Do they think about the innocents before they slam planes into buildings? No. What makes 1 life worth more than another? Nothing.

As far as I learned, Japan did attack America, at Pearl Harbor. And are you completely sure that Japan did not attack non-military targets?

Politics, warfare and terrorism do not mix with life.

Every wit Better! By the phrasing of your question..."so called terrorist," I conclude you do not see them as evil and your analogy with ww11 reveals your lacking grasp of the evil of terrorism, either that or you are sympathetic to their cause. America was involved in ww11 and that led to the bombing, can you inform us what cause these animals have to do what they did? You equate the America bombing of Japan, the dropping of atomic bomb which resulted in civilian deaths much greater than 2986 civilians killed by, according to you, "so called terrorist." I wonder what you called them? You cited world war 11 and though the killing of any civilian at a time of war is unfortunate yet unavoidable, that's war. What do you call the "so called terrorist" mind set and what provocation had they to embark on their dastardly action of 9/11/2001? Were they retaliating on Japan's behalf for world war 11 killings? America bombed Japan then and look at Japan now. Japan And America are two great allies and democracies. America spills the blood of her youths for those they fight for despite the skeptics that want us to believe otherwise by claiming it was for oil and even for that reason, I would say go to war but i9t was not. We did it for Japan, Germany, Kuwait and Is-ha Allah, we will do it for Iraq. Yes, America is very much unrivaled in her magnanimity and the good Lord has been blessing her for that.
