My alt. belt broke and I replaced it along with my fan belt but when I went to start it up something started squealing and even worse something started smoking alot! The belt are on properly and are not rubbing on anything. Any ideas on what this could be?

Sounds like the water pump bearing is siezed.See if you can move the pump by hand with the belt off, if you cant turn it, the pump is bad. Remove and replace. If the pump is good, try turning the alternator, if it is siezed , then you found your problem.
good luck

I would need a little more info. Where exactly is the smoke coming from? Front of motor? Bottom? Tail pipe? Could be an electrical problem. Could be you spilled oil or trans fluid, and it is just burning off. Need more info. Alternators turn on a screw type thing, just like the fan does. No bearings. Bearings would not allow it to conduct the electicity to the battery to charge it. Good Luck.
