It depends on what "thing", and the individual. Some learn from repetition (reading something over and over, or doing a task over and over)...some learn from observation...some learn things by putting them to music (if applicable)...and I'm sure there are other ways...

Concentrate on the subject. Study related available manuals, use help line if available, Brose Internet (yahoo. Goggle, etc). Discuss with knowledgeable friends & work hard to learn the thing.
