So many players suffer, injuries, humiliation in defeat, risk expulsion from the sport they love. Zidane's a great example, here he is on the last football day of his life, it should have been fun, fulfilling, memorable, then he gets a red card after another player hurls insults etc., Give me your view on what you think its really like for them & should Fifa make some rule changes?

Hell yes it is worth it for them to be there. This is the biggest sporting event in the WORLD! Not to mention they are all playing for their home country, my what a little pride will do for you. Also, what happened to Zidane is shameful, but it's not like its the first time he's ever been kicked out of a game. Also, its not the end of his football career, just the international aspect. He'll still be playing club ball, which is where he makes his money anyway. The World Cup is a fantastic event, and yes most teams lose and some teams suffer embarassment or humilitaion because of it, but you have that in all great tournaments throughout the world of sports.

Football (Soccer in USA) players beg to be included in the World Cup team... if you don't believe me ask Guily, Pires, Vieri, Zanetti, D'Alessandro, Veron, Davis, Seedorf, etc.
